Donna M. Bailey, 81, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 1:57 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.  Born in Robinson, Illinois on April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of Espy Wilby Waldrop and Bonnie Alice (Hale) Waldrop.  She was a homemaker; nurse’s aid at Allen Sanitarium; waitress at the Highway Cafe, Oblong and later was employed at L. S. Heath & Son Candy Factory.  She was a member of  the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong; American Legion Auxiliary Post #69 and former member of the Women of the Moose.  Donna liked to read, cook, knit, watch tv and travel.  Donna also helped others learn how to read and do math.

On October 25, 1947, Donna married Donald E. Bailey, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Lydia Bailey and Van & Sharon Bailey; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam & David Bennett; nine grandchildren, Kyle & Tawnya Bailey, Kirk & Kendra Bailey, Darice Bailey, David Shawn Chamblin, Michelle & Kenny Brown, Marci & Chad Crandall, Sandy & Paul Kreps, Chris & Melody Bennett and Kellli & Ryan Cooke; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Carol Waldrop; a brother-in-law, Harold “Pud” Fry and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Delores Harris and Patty Fry; and a brother-in-law, Gene Harris

Rev. Howard Bell will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
